Hello folks!

Got this from the scrappies, but no clue from which E30 model. Can anyone help?

Image

Not really Mtech1 or 2, so a bit puzzled :? Fits fine, though, and a big improvement over the standard 4-spoke version...

it's a regular sport's wheel.

You had (at the end 5) 4 choises:

- 4 spoke
- m-tech1
- m-tech2
- sport's wheel

the m-tech1 and m-tech2 came most of the time with more m-tech parts on the car (e.g.: m-tech suspension) The sport's wheel was a cheaper option ;)

Could be off an E34 too... that's where mine came from that I slapped into my old convertible that had an 'ageing' sports style wheel...

much better than the thin plastic four spoke I think the best bm supplied wheel was the tech 1 but an aftermarket momo is way better than all of them IMO.

My touring had it as an optional extra (had most SE bits) my 320i SE had it as standard. my 318i has the manky 4 spoke.

sold one of those sports wheel on ebay for Ԛ£10.50 couple months back but I have seen them reach Ԛ£40+ when someone stuck an alpina badge on it

i had that big 3 spoke jobby in my touring and it felt horrible to drive the car with it. i now have a tech 2 wheel in there and car is so much nicer to drive its unreal. adds a nice bit of weight to the steering :)

i guess its just because its a 3 spoke Daz, carn'tthink of any other reason? i took mine off the other week and swapped it for a tech1 wheel, was suprised to find that the tech1 was the same diameter. 8O

yeah i got that big steering wheel in the big 5 series i bought. its not bad but i prefer the mtech wheel.

still the smaller the steering wheel the better! so when i get some money (the 5 has left me skint) then its 1 of the mods i have been looking at for a while now.

the one i had on my mini would be fun!

8O Wow, didn't expect such a blast of responses on that steering wheel! Would love to get/find an original Mtech1 version, but since the scrapyard asked for about 25quid, I said what the heck....

Question for those who had one of these and swapped to the Mtech1 - what were the physical differences? Weight? Diameter? Nicer leather covers?

Had a right laugh trying to press the horn coz got used to the 4-spoke buttons on the old one... :D
