i have found a 325i and all the gear to convert my 1.8cab. just to make sure, what is it i need? the guy said it is everything i need to convert it, but would should that be? Thanks for any help on the this people!

omg, i have the same car as you and i am doing the 325i conversion on mine this week!

u need:
engine
gearbox
diff
prop
engine wireing loom
ecu
exhaust

later u can do the suspention, brakes etc.
i will tell u the outcome on mine when its done, good luck mate!

Agreed with fastcarz on that....

You'll need the Airflow meter as well, but ideally that'll come with the engine.

Dunno if the P/S pump fits onto the 2.5 engine with the same fixings as the 1.8? Might be worth finding out..

Oh yes davetouring, the airflow meter i fogot :mad:

your better off benny just getting a doner 325i, so the garage im taking my car to has all the bits they need to avoid any problems,

davetouring, sorry to hear about your engine, hope mine will be ok when its in my car! what was the milage of the engine btw. the doner 325 ive got is showing 122k with lots of history so hopefully it should be reliable!

I'm sure you'll be ok, sounds good.

My engine had over 200k, but pulled very strongly. Still sits next to 325 Sports!

Worth checking it over though!

id change the rear axle as well then you wood have disks are the drive shafts the same? ?

thanks for replying but doesn't look like it is going to happen now. i just cant get anyone to insure me because it is a conversion! SHIT!

benny, im sure u can get a good insurancee deal, people on the zone have put 3.0 and 3.5 engines in there e30's and managed to get insured,

if u do the conversion ie brakes and suspention, u should get insured, ask some guys on here! :wink:

the steering rack will also need to be changed.

brackets for the air box and Engine relays will need a place to sit.

Radiator and expantion tank.
