looks like i'll never be able to get awy from stripping this engine and putting it back together!! but your prob right mate as i cant seem to see where else its coming from, it does add to a fair loss of oil..

Yep, it's that one alright, when you've removed the inlet manifold and replaced the o rings on both ends of the tube use a nylon zip tie to hold the spring compressed. This will enable you to position the tube into the manifold and block more easily and also save damaging the o rings in the process.
Once all is bolted up then snip the zip tie to release the spring tension. May be a good idea to use a bit of silicone grease on the o rings top and bottom.

It's the return pipe from the cam/valve gear.blingsta wrote:Yep i certainly do mate... but isnt it only vapours that travel through there?
Gallons of oil pass through it every hour the engine is running.

It's an oil resistant rubber, so ordinary oil will do.old_skool_2002 wrote: May be a good idea to use a bit of silicone grease on the o rings top and bottom.

You're not going to like this, but the short answer is: Do it again, properly!blingsta wrote:Ive changed the O ring at the bottom of the tube... wiped area clean. oil still leaking through !!!! whats the next step guys?
Either that, or the leak is coming from somewhere else. Check that the parts are in the right order, and don't assume they were before.
Hope you changed the top one as well!

You might like to try some thing me dad passed on to me. Dont know were the leek is coming from, clean the sus area as best you can and then put talcome power down, over, around the area, it will soak up any oil that is left, BUT will also show you were it is comimg from..
