Are engine dampers and engine mounts the same?
How do they differ in function?
I bought 2 'mounts' that are V-shaped and have threads protruding from either end but there are also the round cylindrical 'dampers'.
Does an M42 engine use both? I can see where the round one's go but not where the V-spahed one's sit...

as far as I know the engine and box is only support by the 2 round ones which you can see and some rubber stopper type things on the back of the box.
Do you have a pic or anything of the V shaped ones?
I know when I did mine I got genuine BM ones and fitted them in a couple of hours

The below link shows the grey version I bought:

So I only need 2 mounts? I guess the rear of the engine is stabilised by being attached to the gearbox etc and the front just 'rests' on the 2 round bushes.
If you can confirm there are no other one's, I'll exchnage and carry on.
