Went down to the stealers (Benhams again!) and spent another Ԛ£40 on tailpipe trims and Mtech stickers for Mtech2 bodykit today

See the picture below, there is a bend in the pipes from the backbox, and in my eyes the new exhaust tips would stick out too much. When the trims are pushed on the exhaust pipes the tips are pinched in two places to hold it on rather than a bolt underneath.

I know Simon has put these on Chris's sport, and have seen a few on zoners cars. Can anybody offer me there opinions/advice.

Also if I do fit them, they would need a real good whack with something like a rubber mallet so not to damage them.

Has anyone cut the trims down?.

Cheers for now Gareth

Snap!

I bought a new trim for my other iS last week, and it don't fit!!! Ԛ£18 for a tail pipe trim too 8O (and it is a BMW rear box)

The iS has the same bend in the pipe as yours (only a single pipe on mine  )

I can't remember what my other iS had on it before i replaced the exhaust with a shiney stainless one :D but i'm sure the exhaust trim piece was shorter than the new one i have just got.

I had the same problem with my old system, but after spending Ԛ£26.00 on them they stayed on the car till i swapped it for straight pipes coming out.

I didn't have any problems fitting the pipe trims to the sport at the time, they were a nice tight fit on the pipe, and like you say had to be hit on to the exhaust to make sure they didn't just fall off.
Is your back box a genuine item Gareth??

They're off the car sat in the garage waiting, you said you weren't in a rush so I've been sorting other stuff out.

When you're ready mate, they've got your name on them.

i work in a black hack garage and got a zuast trim for the misses renault which fitted perfectly, when the tailpipe was replaced i got another one and it didnt fit at all, just fell off. it must just depend on the exhaust make.
the new trim went on my car and looks ace!

I had some nice stainless steel trims made by a local engineer, cost me nowt, took him 10 mins to make them.
My rear box is off Cuk's old Touring they were straight exit tailpipes at a 45 degree angle,my trims just slid over them with a bit of persuasion from Mr Mallet
