just read the zone article on the OBC retrofit.

couple of questions :

when installed, the OBC wiring loom/harness (july 1990) has two connectors on the right hand side
1/ white 2-pin with a blue and brown wires
2/ green 4-pin with green, green/red, brown, brown/yellow wires

what position do they plug into...somewhere in the white junction box behind the glove box?

Also, the previous owner has cut two of the wires from the yellow speedo connector.
the brown is an earth, but what about the red/black?

The junction box behind the glove-box has different size / shape connector ports, the mating connectors will only fit in one position...

The white 2-pin with a blue and brown wires is for the outside air tamp sender

The green 4-pin with green, green/red, brown, brown/yellow wires are mainly connected with the horn module, which personally i would not bother to fit. The BMW code immobiliser is totally useless... I think this is the plug you just leave unattached. Otherwise you will not be able to switch of the engine once started!

Can you get some pictures? the tech write up needs some!!!

Good luck 8)

P.s. I think the cut black / red is probably horn related, so you can just ignore that one too!

In fact if your not fitting the horn, don't bother fitting the relay module that sits above the ECU. The OBC will get all the power / signals it needs from the back of the cluster.

Only OBC wiring that is needed are the loom from yellow cluster plug to OBC, the single wire to the column stalk switch, and the wire down to the external temp sensor.
Everything else is for the useless immobiliser and its alarm.

Thanks all, the one function I do want is the is the gong which is connected to the useless, unloved unwanted black relay box.
E30Mark, I'll forward you the pictures once I figure out the camera settings.

Sorry, yes, forgot about the gong. Comes off the loom to the black box, but has nothing to do with it.

A bit late in the post but this might help:

This is engine bay loom. Black and blue connectors connect Temp Sensor and Gong respectively.

The other bundle, far left connects to the junction box behind the glove box, brown is earth ( ), connector with 2 green wires is part of the immobiliser function I believe, remaining 2 connectors including large green one connect to the internal loom - which I don't have a picture for - sorry.
