There is a broken joint on one of the side rails in my front seat, and I thought about using epoxy to glue it back to the base frame, but would this work? Welding it would mean a complete stripdoen of the seat, big work. The break doesn't seem to make any difference to the side bolster so I have decided to leave well enough for now.

Sorry, there is no glue available that would stick that together. It needs to be welded I'm afraid.

Ian.

Thanks Ian. I doesn't seem to have any effect, and the only way I found out it the weld was broken was through stripping down the side bolster for repair. Think I'll leave till all other jobs are done on the car. The spring in the mechanism for controlling the backrest position is also broken(i.e. the seat wont come back up to vertical by itself) so if I decide to fix this it would be a good time to strip down base.
