Bloody pile of crap!
Bought this coupe and the central locking didn't work and the drivers door wouldn't lock or unlock from the outside. It was a case of unlocking the passenger door and reaching across to pull the button up on the drivers door. Today i went out to it and opened the passenger door no problem but the drivers door lock button won't budge
I thought i would try another central locking relay to see if it would help which made no diffrence. So i got the door card off and can't see what i need to do in there to get the door to unlock
I suspect the deadlocking is playing up hence the button not budging? Is there any way of overiding that or shall i just get my spanners out and braek the thing into a thousand pieces before i get the matches out
Cheers Jules...

if that does work, flick the clip off the back of the barrel and take the barrel out, think you can flick the lock from in there!

That does bugger all but cheers for trying to help
The fact that the door didn't unlock from the outside before is probably the reason it doesn't work doing that.

the clip slides in from the front of the car. i take it there's little room with the door shut but it's not too tight, should be able to pull it out without tools or anything brutal

I got it out alright after a bit of fiddling then got the door open
Removed the entire catch mechanism and freed it off a little.
There is something missing though hence the door not locking on the key there is nothing on the barrel that makes contact with anything else so all turning the key does is trip that little micro-switch which in turn does bugger all as the c/l is all a gonner

just a thought,
if central locking did work would it make the drivers door unlock do you think?
i take it you have read about the two wires coloured red and black that should be joined together to bypass going through the drivers door?
doing this sorted my cetral locking problem out ever since.
im just thinking that if the motor inside the door could move the parts may be it would work?
i can talk you through what i did if you want?

I had the same problem on an old one of mine, changed the latch assembly and put another lever on the back of the barrel and was fine after that.

the missing bit is what i told you about. the roll pin pushed through a 'L' shaped lump on the end of the barrel. these have a habbit of cracking where the roll pin goes through (mine did the same). if you get another barrel and push the roll pin out, the 'L' shaped bit comes off and can be swapped over.

If the dead lock is stuck on you can undo solonoid, pull the nob up and then you can open the door.
This is what the kock is supossed to look like, is yours the same ?

it's like that pics but the top part has broken off. they often crack after a while where that roll pin is put though the top so the ever part has fallen off in 2 bits
