Just looking at buying some wheels and wondered if they would fit. just thought would it be a good idea to have a stickey with wheel sizes/width/offset and weather they would fit an e30 bolt on or need work? as i alway see this question asked in the tech section and it would save time asking everyone, say if there was a ebay auction ending soon.

could you ask peole with non standard wheel to post up what size they are and if the fit ok and then i would put them into a table? :D

Too many factors involved here!

If the car is lowered, how much by, whos springs etc.
Every car will sit at a different height due to chassis weight, mega ICE install etc

Pre / post face lift cars have different shape arches...

My suggestion.... is that all the information you can gather be pieced together and made into an article.

Others may agree / disagree with me :?

I think a table could work well. For example, the columns could be:

Car model (year / type)

Wheel make/type
Wheel location (front/rear)
Wheel dimeter
Wheel width
Offset
Centre Bore

Tyre size (XXX/XX rXX)
Tyre make/type
How you'd rate the tyre (would give the table more value!)

Suspension height
Distance from ground to arch
Distance from top of tyre to arch
Suspension details (ie std / mtech / H&R)

Spacers Required
Clearance issues (eg rubs when loaded / rubs on full lock / fouls caliper / close to fouling caliper)
Mods carried out (eg arches rolled / flared)

If everyone filled that in, it'd be blimmin useful...

(edited to add columns!)

OK just had another thought

Would it be useful as a comparison to quote floor to top of arch heights (like i said before a -40mm spring on one car will be different to the next.)

You might wish to add to your list Ziggy if the car has had its arches rolled.

Damn, yeah! I meant to put 'mods carried out' in there, to cover arch rolling / flaring etc. & yep, distances from the ground to the arch & from the top of the wheel to the arch would be useful too :thumb:

so if we did
car type
height from floor
tyre width
tyre wall
rim size
offset
c-bore
mods needed
spacer needed/ mm
some thing like that??

once we decided on this if we make alist like above and them people can copy-paste and fill in and then post then i'll put it in a table. :D

Yup - might as well give the option to put plenty of detail; doesn't matter if people don't always fill in all the columns...

Tyre brand and model is quite an important factor, as sidewall design varies dramatically between different brands. some aid clearance more than others.
