What might be the symptoms of a c.v. joint on its last legs?
Was sitting at a red light yesterday, dropped the clutch and left a bit of a mark on the road. Almost right away I started hearing a tick tick tick tick. As I increased in speed, it became a constant sound, became louder, almost sounding like a holed exhaust. Definitly not though. The tick tick sound is most prominent when I drive off slowly, the roar (holed exhaust sound) most prominent with speed. Also when putting foot down, I feel a sligh vibration.
Took the car to a mech today, discovered that the bolt holding the drive shaft to the prop shaft was loose. Had that tightened, but no difference.
Any ideas guys??
Thanks.

'Ticking' sounds like the CV, Inner joints are replaceable wheras the outers are 'fixed'. May be better getting an exchange one or secondhand and trying that.

Would the diff just suddenly go though, from being dead quite one minute, then suddenly (as in from stopping at a stop street and then driving off again) becoming so damn noisy and full of vibration?
