Does anyone know which tyres have the best combination of performance, long life, not tramlining on motorways, and good in the wet (seeing as winter's coming up)
I've read bad things about noisy Pirelli P6000s, but I don't know much else.
Cheers, Ian

I have a different tyre on each corner, helps the handling no end
Will buy a matching set one day, although the avon zv1 on the front seems understeer proof,as does the good year eagle f1 on the other side!
As for the back it drifts like crazy round roundabouts due to the champiro ditch finder on the rear n/s but more grip going left as the o/s rear has a fulda extremo on it.
Problem is they all have about 7mm on them so I will be living with it,all similar tread pattern too, track day in dec should sort em out
I wouldn't recommend you follow my example!
(BTW it was like it when I bought it,I put the fulda on,only coz it was as new and kicking about at work-don't find many 195 50 15's lying around!)

you do like a challenge Mr Schumaker sir.... oh and I'm SO SO sorry to see you didn't win the F1 championship
tramlining will be more to do with width - don't go over 205 IMHO
Pirellis are usually rubbish in the wet - best medium-price tyre I've had was Goodyear Ventura

I've got Goodyear Eagles on my 14's at the moment and i'm gonna put a set of them on my 15" BBS's when they get here. Great tyres if you ask me. Good in the wet and Great in the dry.

I am currently running Bridgestone potenzas and they are way better than p6000's. 205/55/15 Cheap tyres are not a good idea especially at the back. I would go for grip rather than longevity but it depends how you drive.

I've just looked on mytyres - the ventura is 67 GBP in 205/55/15 - seems a lot
lots of people rave about Toyo Proxes T1-R (not the T1-S) and they are on mytyres for only 50 GBP; if I were you I'd be tempted to try them instead, but 2nd or 3rd-hand info is not ideal
I've also heard good things about Vredestein (55 GBP), but I've never had any.

if you can find em in the right size i can highly recomend uniroyal rainsports for the rear at least if you dnt wanna shell out for all four
not the cheapest out there but grip is excellent in all conditions
will be putting them on borbets when the falcons wear out
