Reversing lights stopped working

The reversing lights have stopped working on my chrome bumber 1987 318i M10 engined car. It's most likely the reversing light switch on the gearbox, anyone know if it's this one here, labelled as part number eight:

If not, can someone identify the correct part?

Yes mate, thats the one. If you want to test that it definately your switch, remove the gear gaitor, and going down through the rubber boot that surrounds the gear lever, you will see two wires that lead to a white connector. If you unplug this, then bridge the wires in the plug (the side that is attatched to the main car loom) the reverse lights should come on if the switch is your only problem.
