Was just wondering if anyone had bought one of these Ԛ£29 polished strut braces of ebay? and has anyone been actually been able to get one to fit?
i bought one, and was a bit disapointed with the quality, seemd to be very light in weight and hollow? and doesnt feel very strong? or is it just meant to be like that? and i couldnt even get the dam thing to fit, the holes dont line up right.

Depends what you want it for. If its for show and shine it'll probably be fine but if you want it to stop chassis flex on a track I doubt it will be up to the job. You get what you pay for with these things... and Ԛ£29.99 is very cheap. Pukka ones are closer to Ԛ£100+...

how about you guys buy the sparco 2 piece steel one? it's still light and does exactly what you want from it.

it's cheap too at £50 posted from motorsportworld. You can't go wrong with it. Theres no hinges on it so it won't flex like the hinged ones from eibach etc

Aha, didn't notice this one!!! Well spotted. :o
However, on the non motronic sixes (i.e 323i and pre '87 320i) there is a idle valve perched on top of the inlet manifold which gets in the way of every strut brace I have tried so far apart from the ebay one mentioned above. Maybe the Sparco one you mention would be OK too. Motorsport world didn't have any pictures of it. Have you got a pic??? :D

It will do absolutely nothing to your car if your fitting the struts to the turrets on your custom cage

The strut was there before the cage was conceived......
