Hi boys what do you reckon to this m20 manifold.
Good price, compact design and allows extennal wastegate.
http://www.cartech.net/exhaustparts.htm
is it left hand drive only?

Cant really say anything about the design, but it looks like it should work. At 260GBP + shipping (and any other customs costs
) it doesnt seem too expensive.
Its only really the downpipe thats a problem for RHD cars, so assuming it places the turbo on top and at the front of the engine it should fit a RHD car.

I think it should be ok, was trying to look at the bolt pattern to see if the turbo was placed on top?
have sent them an email, regarding 'all in' cost.

yeah i know its a bad idea but look at turbocharging dynamics kit and that is the same manifold can only fit small turbos on LHD cars so its no good. Get a ITG manifold

How much tax do you have to pay on top of shipping for the ITG manifold?

Did these guys get back to you? I mailed them too regarding the M30 manifold and havnt heard back. I was thinking about phoning them.oldroydsr4 wrote:I think it should be ok, was trying to look at the bolt pattern to see if the turbo was placed on top?

What about flipping the manifold round so that the turbo is at the front and on top. Do think it would be low enough?

You have to spend a million years* realigning the ports when you flip the manifolds as BMW decided not to space the studs symetrically for some reason

Now I was looking at their M50/S50 manifold....Turbo-Brown wrote:You have to spend a million years* realigning the ports when you flip the manifolds as BMW decided not to space the studs symetrically for some reason

Im guessing that again the turbo would be bottom mounted back by cyl 6, but because of the exhaust stud spacing it should flip easy enough
They reckon it "will flow well up to rates equivalent to 600+ bhp", but would a log desgin like that work that well?

the guys on e30tech seem to use this company
http://666fab.com/main.html
and the import costs of motor parts is
(cost + carriage) x 8% duty x 17.5% vat...plus the carriage company's charges

666fab.com - isnt that guy registered on here? jonvolk or something like that.
Now their M50/S50 manifolds look much better, still bottom mount though
Both the M20 manifolds look very
More expensive than the other but I bet there is a reason for that.

Yeah, the cheaper ones (like in my pic above) will most likely be cast, but will still be functional. The tubular manifolds will be better, but cost more.DaveD wrote:one looks like its cast the other is tubular stainless

If your interested in one of my manifolds (666 fab) let me know your shipping info and I can get you a quote if youd like. I have done quite a few international shipments.

Unfortunately no. I dont have access to a right hand drive car and its tight enough right now without having a steering shaft in the way. Just the tubular manifold will fit that setup.oldroydsr4 wrote:Hi jon_volk, any chance of a fabricated adapter pipe with external wg for right hand drive cars.

From the website -
$865 = 460GBP + shipping etc.
There is a more expensive one at $1175 = 625GBP which is an equal length manifold, but Im not sure if that would fit RHD or not.
If I was going M20 turbo, I would be very tempted by one of these, but I guess the shipping and UK Customs costs could be the killer

Might be worth checking PPF aswell, they are about 450 including tax and fit RHD but are not stainless, He said to me they could do stainless but would be quite abit more, more then jon volks inclluding shipping and tax, they do a M/S50 manifold which you might be intrested in if you turbo james

Hmmm. Might be worth a try. Are PPF easy enough to get hold of? Im guessing email will be the best way.WillG wrote:they do a M/S50 manifold which you might be intrested in if you turbo james
