Does the MPG info get read from the back of the dial cluster (small green connector)? If so, might be worth checking its in the right place?

there is a large yellow plug on the OBC loom which goes in the back of the cluster into a large yellow socket, but that is the main input to the OBC; you'll definately be needing that

The m/g function on the OBC uses the same info from the cluster that works the economy gauge under the tacho, som if this works, it's probably a problem with the OBC.
All the data for the OBC, except external temperature, comes along the single loom from the yellow socket on the cluster.

I found that the OBC can be temperamental - try disconnecting then reconnecting it to the loom with the ignition on
is that OK Brian? It didn't do mine any harm...
disclaimer - doing anything that I suggest may or may not result in a total catastrophe

Unlikely to do any harm, but easier to disconnect the battery for a couple of minutes if the cluster is screwed in place.orangecurry wrote:I found that the OBC can be temperamental - try disconnecting then reconnecting it to the loom with the ignition on

no no no - you have to do it with the ignition on..... I suppose you could do it your way (with the ignition on)... I suppose
but then the 'petrol fuelling stalling at junctions' might happen - swings and roundabouts
just pull the rear of the OBC off then put it back on with the ignition on; it only needs the dash to be in pieces

I mean with the ignition on. Couple of minutes with the battery disconnected doesn't upset the idle settings in my experience, but make sure you have the keys or a window open, as reconnecting a battery usually arms the alarm and engages the central locking.
