Been here for a few weeks, but never posted a 'newbie' post, just dived straight into technical, anyway , long term lover of the more 'retro' cars, always had a soft spot for the E30 shape (hankered after an M3 for ages a few years back), and when my old faithful Mondeo lapsed its MOT and Tax.....good old E-Bay found me a local E30 318 tourer, bought it, gave it a service and then found the engine was fubared (must have had treacle for oil, as it wasnt burning it before the oil change), so did what every sane person does - dropped the engine and went for a 2.0 converion and auto to manual.
The reason for the thanks....it only runs  still a few small jobs to do, needs an exhaust, brackets from the donor car, plumbing etc, but it fired first go.
Once this is finished, its time to clear the garage, then start getting serious with the other toy, a road legal dragster thats (hopefully) going to run in the Street Eliminator class, looking for somewhere in the 9sec range, time will tell, and Ive never been that fast, so there is a good chance im going to scare myself silly in the process

Its taken me longer than expected I must admit (the donor car has receipts for about 4.5k over the last 9 years, but was rotten (and rusty!) as hell underneath), sitting behind a desk for the last 14 years hasnt done me much good at all.....glad to have used some of my apprentiship knowledge!! Rain doesnt help much either, walking around like someone with another 20 years on me today 8O Stiff as a donkey!!
Will be sorting some pics of the Tourer after I get it all back together and more presentable.

This one of the toy is a good few years old, the rest I have are workshop pics with it totally in bits!!

As soon as I can get some more money, plumbing, wiring, exhaust - then MOT, and a few shake down runs at the Pod and see what she can do.....and annoying all those Saxo/Nova owners round near me

Thanks for the welcome guys, hope I can give back some when my E30 knowledge improves a bit. 8)
