Hi folks and good afternoon, I have taken off my wing mirrors to colour code them to the car (325i 1990 cab) how do they come apart.
Looks as if the glass comes off but don't won't to use to much force and smash it, cheers chris

Little white plastic cog teeth under the bottom edge of the glass (push sideways), or work through the little hole underneath to remove the glass.
Motor mechanism and wiring comes out easily enough, but I don't think you car part the mirror housing from its mounting bracket

sorted, you are correct about spliting them any more they look to be a factory press fit for the spring, and pop rivets on the rear plate that hold the elec motor.

Hi Once you have taken the glass out just mask all the parts you do not want to paint.I used the wires to hang the mirrors from the washing line to dry[was summer]they turned out ok.Make sure you put the glass back in securely as if not they will fall out.
