m50 timing?

M50 25i valve timing, basic crank and cam shaft setup if any body knows it?

its a chain and from memory there are clear(ish) timing marks on the sprockets :wink:

yes it's a timing chain, on the cam's are 2 arrows opposite each other and on the crankshaft is 6 holes altho 5 are drilled through and the 6th ond is is just a indent, like half drilled.

i gather that the arrows on the cam's line up with each other and are inline with the head but can't find any thing on the block that the crank should line up to (a crappy pic to help explain)

The holes in the crankshaft pulley sound like balancing holes.......

Its not done (correctly) by marks, there is a plate that bolts to the back of the head that locks the cams in timing position and a crank locking pin
