im thinking about putting a supercharger on my car. and changing it to a carb instead of fuel injection.
I have a 1989 318i auto. I have seen a weber carb for a 1983 316 auto which i belive is a 1.8.
will this fit mine, if not what should i be looking for.
cheers for any help you all can give
chris

Hi
Your best to get a carb of a turbo car as the pressure can blow the seals.

the carb engine should fit in no problems, easy conversion, but why go for carb? you'll also need the manual gearbox, and cutting down the electrics.
...lots of fiddeling and tuning with the carb engine...

the carb will be from an M10 engine, yours will have the M40 engine, the intake is totally wrong
in short, its a non started.
for S/C or turbo you're better retaining the EFI dude, the ignition timing will require some mods to prevent detonantion

so all i need to get is the supercharger and the magasquirt ecu??
what about fitting the supercharger, is there a kit out there (ive had a look but cant find anything) or is it a diy job.
im thinking on using one from the mini cooper s (think its an eaton 45 or somthing)
what sort of money will i be looking for a megasquirt ecu?
