Hi, this would be yet another post on changing fuel tanks but I dont think its that bad!

I have a small petrol leak where the rubber hose meets the tank, so when it stops p*ssing with rain We will try to change the one off the 318 onto the 320, are they the same? is it fairly straight forward?

The part is ended by bmw and even the filler pipe has to be specially ordered and costs 130+VAT!

so second hand is the way to go it seems!

Does anyone know what standards the pipe has to be made too? I couldnt just buy a new one of the same width for another car and cut it to fit? (sounds a bit dodgy but i would prefer a new pipe!)

I want to replace part 19, is there anythign i need to watch out for when taking it off? (dont worry i dont smoke....)

I bought part 19 from my dealer when I changed my petrol tank and i'm sure it cost me about Ԛ£20 2 months ago.

When I took my old one off it was really badly cracked and fraid around the edges, no way it was going back on.
It should fit from a 318 to 320 because I bought the wrong petrol tank (325) and the holes for the pipes looked exactly the same diameter.

Good luck anyway.

Part 19 is the same on all E30s, and if it's NLA, that's news to me.
They have been known to deteriorate, but most second hand ones will be as good as the day they left the factory.
When you refit it, push it hard up against the tank, and position the clamp as close to the tank as you can.
