yep, it shows dealer code 798 which means its a proper motorsport

Mines an 88 the other one's a 91 and if they are different dealer's then would you have the same number or be different? cheers

as far as im aware, it has to have dealer code 798 for it to be original, from any dealer.

I bought the tourer off you a couple of months ago (with the alpinas) thanks for a great car dude! I've had to do a few things to it, but nothing I wouldn't expect for a car of its age. Nice one, just thought I'd touch base and say hi.

Strange how BMW would print out 798 Motorsport Edition and 122 Motorsport Edition? Was the Motorsport built as far back 1988? But if it was not why would BMW state Motorsport on a print out if it was not?

Nah nothing major.... Had to do the rear top mounts, new rear discs and shoes to sort the handbake. Still trying to chase the cold start problem (don't know if you had this problem with it or not?) bit lazy to start from cold. All that said I'm damn chuffed with it we've ben all over the uk without any problems what so ever so a big thumbs up to you

Handbrake cause that much trouble sorry pal. That cold start problem thought it was the battery at first because it wasnt the right size, swapped battery's from convertible but no differnce. Its ment to have new leads and so on. Could it possibly be the ignition coil?
