Ok... I have just seen something embedded in one of my rear tyres.

It's not a nail...

It looks more like a rather large staple or needle.... but...

do i pull it out....?

leave it there....?

or cut the bit that's hanging out..off... and leave the rest embedded?

I assume you have, and are capable of replacing a wheel?

is the tyre deflating? If not i would leave it until it does.
how much meat is on the tread? if lots, leave it alone.

Not worth the risk in my opinion. Whats the cost of a tyre against the cost of a rear qtr repair if it goes pop and you have a little ding.

Sorry, I dont want to put the fear of god up you, but please be certain its safe to use first. :)

personally i would pull it out, id rather take it out, it go down and get the puncture repaired for a fiver than it come out when i'm doin 70 on a motorway and cause a collision or sumthing.

i must add i am a bit wary of tyre's anyway heard too many bad stories involving tyre lol :D

Never needed to in the past, but think i should be able... lol if i can undo the wheel nuts!!
but the spare is the shit*y small one in the boot.

Don't think it's deflating... Loads of tread on the tyres, but the metal thing is in the groove and not the tread bit.

Have to go to Heathrow in the morning... 140 mile round trip... grrr

thanks... will leave it....

("EDIT" - ok.... urm... kwik fit ?! but after the heathrow run... have to pick up my brother at 7.30am ARGH!

worried now. )

If its stuck into the side wall, scrap the tyre..

If its stuck in the tread and its a fairly new/expensive tyre, get it repaired and put onto your spare (should cost Ԛ£20 max)

If you aint got no spare, root around in Scotts aladdins cave of a house till you find one!
