well tonight i thought id be a smart arse and "show the mrs" just how fast my m30 is... took her around to my mates garage and all of a sudden it starts to back fire and chug like hell, eventually cam to a very lumpy and groggy still stance and just died! i tried to fire the beeeactch back up and no joy. After 4 turns of the engine it just kept on back firing :? I could be wrong but could this have anything to do with the air flow meter which i thought may be out of its settings or somthing ???? :?
The car is still parked up and it wont run now  gonna get my machanic dude check it over tomorrow as it broke down about 2 mins from his garage so its just parked up at the moment, with no tax or insurance on it, oh dear.... to make it worse its on a dual carridgeway 8O No doubt our good old boys in blue will cotton on to her and get her clamped. so ideas a.s.a.p would be very helpfull :o

thanks guys

I've heard M30s are prone to moisture in the distributor cap.
If it's not been run for a while or/and been very wet where you are it could be that. Can you get to it with some basic tools and check it has a spark at the spark plug and fuel getting through? That could eliminate or point to many possibilities!
