After reading a lot of posts about MegaSquirt and finding out what all it can do I was sold lol (really is some piece of kit) so I ordered the unassembled kit and got it last Friday, busy weekend building it up.

After reading the manual a few times and understood what went where I got the soldering iron out and got to work. Worked though all the steps and completed the tests at each section bar one :( for some reason I cant get my RPM to work everything else is working fine Iâ┚¬Ã¢”ž¢ve tried turning R56 and R52 7-8 turns like the manual said but get no read out in megetune. Part from that everything went fine

Took a few photos, not the best only had my phone handy

Well done!

My V3 took about 8hrs to build one cold rainy night a few weeks back.

Something in my head tells me the two blue bits with the tiny screws need to be clicked all the way back to get the rpms working but I'd better ask Ant to be sure.

Are you going for wasted spark or the single coil setup? I can supply pics of my V3 if needed although it's been modded again for a few extras now winkeye

I didnâ┚¬Ã¢”ž¢t really want to play about with the trimmers to much, just in case I did something to damage the board, maybe wait and see what Ant says

I was thinking about the wasted spark idea but what all is required for the setup?

Be great if you could send me a few photos, check out the extras to winkeye , i may need a few myself soon winkeye

For wasted spark you need the additional two fets and some resistors, the circuit diagrams are on MS site.

I'll download the pics I have and send them over/post them later on.

I've gone for boost, water injection control, solonoid for boost is at home ready, just the pump and soloniod for the water to be bought/fitted.

Great stuffâ┚¬Ã‚¦ keep the photos coming. :D We could do with a Wiki on this site, so all our combined knowledge can be collected together.

dude, do you get rpm from the stim when set in normal ( non VR ) mode ?

if the answer is yes, enable "stim for wheel" and try again 8)

No mate, leave it jumpered for VR operation, on megatune, change the D14 output to reflect Spark, save the file !!

then go to "SPARK"- stim for wheel, click yes, stepsize = 1, then flash the ECU again, re-save the file to HD and you should get rpms.

with VR enabled and D14 as spark output, the rpm in MT should read 1 all the time

D14 was already set to "Spark output A" changed the stim for wheel like you said but still no joy

They were added as part of the package I asked for, sorta all in deal to get all the mods done at once. as in I didn't source them myself.

I would have thought maplins or the like would be able to help, if not a online electronics/parts store.

Ant may have bought some also, will speak to him later about it :D

Ok going to wire up the wasted spark

Seen this Omega Coil Pack on ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... %3AIT&rd=1

It do the job ok?

Still need to order the VB921Zâ┚¬Ã¢”ž¢s but adding another connector to the MS box today

Whereâ┚¬Ã¢”ž¢s the best place to order the TPS and IAT sensors from?

Cheers

The coil pack is the same as Alex, Ants and mine so will be fine

TPS, M50 TPS or any variable TPS will do and IAT sensors Ant can get, I think he has a few in stock. I just flogged my spare one to Mark, typical :D

lol it may look like a knightmare man but its not to bad to build up as long as you can solder and understand what goes where (I missed a few things, but all good now)

The hard bit me thinks is the wiring up to the car and getting it tuned, thatâ┚¬Ã¢”ž¢s the bit Iâ┚¬Ã¢”ž¢m not looking forward too lol

But weâ┚¬Ã¢”ž¢ll find out in a few weeks
