It's this one...

When I got the car (1984 323i, manual 2dr), previous owner told me engine had been changed to a M20B25. However, many things do not add up (L-Jet ECU, etc) such as this ICV.

Found it connected to the water and vacuum hoses, but it was physically hanging in the empty space beneath the intake manifold. Can someone advise me where should it be bolted on, seeing there are two bolt holes on the dang thing?

Thanks!

What makes you think it is an ICV? (Idle Control Valve)
It looks like an odd thermostat/bypass thingy or just a junction..

... where did the vacuum hose go?
Are all 4 pipes connected to coolant hoses?

Globulator - looking and tracing the hoses back from that thingy, plus comparing against some fabulous engine bay pics in this forum, showed that :
a) I'm a sad bugger who loves to poke my fingers where it's grimy, oily and hot
b) everyone else has their ICV directly connected onto the intake manifold, and
c) 2 of them hoses are for running water/coolant, and the other two has nothing inside...

Couldn't quite see where the vacuum hoses went (the Haynes manual didn't help much, and Bentley's not available at local bookstores), so the closest I have as reference is realoem.com. I'm doing my best to replace all the dodgy hoses, so I'll update on my discoveries 8)
