Hi all,

as above, just wondering if anyone has every arranged their own courier and picked up a hardtop from Germany? If so is it advisable and who/what company did you use?

I dont want to drive to Germany because frankly i havent got the time.

I seen the prices they go for on ebay.de and they are ridiculously cheaper than what they go for in the UK.

Hope someone out there can help...

Cheerz

Hi Jay

Hardtops in the Motherland often go for the price of a soft-top in the UK.

It would be useful to see what the response is as I'd like to buy one from there also.

Cheapest way of course is to bid, win and drive over, stick it on and drive back.

I might just do that as I have some holidays owing to me.

better to do the ring on the way, then
a) the car is lighter and you can do a better time :D
2) you can save the hardtop money if you stack the car 8O

I have bought 7 hard tops in my time 3 of the ugly BMW ones and 4 weissmans, the most i have ever paid was Ԛ£650, all in the u.k.
You lot are obviously not very good at maths if you think it is cheaper to drive to germany and bring one back :?

I quite like the bm ones, if the vinyl is removed and colour coded. What do the weissmans ones look like?

mate where were you getting them from for less than Ԛ£650? Any pointers would be much appreciated.

The ones that go on the here and ebay uk are about Ԛ£700+

there is one on buy it now for for €699 which is top price which = Ԛ£468+Ԛ£100 petrol from london Ԛ£50 ferry..which I think =Ԛ£638 if you do it without staying over...and besides how much did you sell them on for ..not what you bought them for ...unless you have 7cabs that is

I put two of them on M3 cabs i sold , two for customers, and sold the rest, for substantially more than i paid ! :D
The best buy was a misano red weissmann top with a black quilted leather headlining ,it was amazing and Ԛ£500 :)

hardtops come on here regularly and the threads last for ever , lots of talk of 'dibs' etc but no dollars . Wait till the seller has had enough of losers with no dollars, turn up in your cab with dollars and make him an offer, he will probably bite your hand off !.
I have found most of mine on ebay, turn up in the early stages of the auction with cash,it usually works. One must remember now is top money time for hardtops , the best time to buy is mid summer.
Unless you are going to germany for other reasons , driving there in a 15 y/o turd to theoretically save Ԛ£10.50 is madness.
