Gents,

i have just purchased an e38 7 series, it has 20" alpina wheels, alpina suspension and alpina brakes. The previous owner has assured me that these were fitted from factory. Is there any way this can be verified? i need to prove to my insurance company that the car has not been modified from factory spec!!

I have called up a few bmw dealers who are unhelpfull..

Thanks

I'm guessing that 20" Alpinas weren't a factory fit, they were maybe a dealer fit option. Just a guess though.

The only way you can be sure is to get in touch with the original supplying dealer and get a build list print-out for the car from them.

Get some pics up though!!! 8)

surely if the car left the factory with the 20" alpina wheels on it i dont have to declare it to the insurance company as it hasnt been modified from factory spec?

if i could get something from bmw listing the optional extras they installed i could prove that it hasnt been modified?

pics to follow!!

get ready its a beauty!!!!

thanks for that, i called bmw up and they have told me that the alpina wheel, suspension and brakes were not fitted from factory which means ill have to declare to my insurance company!doh...

plus point is tho that all of the upgrades were fitted at a bmw dealer, all origional alpina parts, also had an engine change at 78k, probably the dreaded nikasil issue!

insurance premium increased by Ԛ£200.00, not too bad considering the wheels cost over 4k!!

Noooooo!

I saw it on 'the7seriesregister.co.uk' for sale, and back then I thought 'wow, that looks nice'.

Is it a 28 or a 40?

Either way, I wouldn't mind it! Very nice. Loving the rims.

Yeah... it's up for grabs. I bought it when I sold my E38 as I fancied a bit of a change. Not getting on with it though. It's a fantastic car, it's fast and comfortable, but I like my BMW's too much and want one back! :?

I'm after Ԛ£3k... but I don't have spare cash to go with it though.

It's on an M plate, done 114k, black sports leather, but only 15" factory fit AMG rims.

Drives real nice, but SO different from the E38!!!

What's the mlies on the E38?
