..........taken off a 316i rust bucket today?
Stainless backbox, no manuf. stamp and label unreadable. Has approx. 70mm tailpipe and sounds great. Really deep throaty rumble at idle and a laid back growl at revs.
Anyone recognise this......now on ebay.

Genuinely never seen one before, hence the post to try and guage a price. It's a well made piece of kit, not one of those cheapo copy parts sold on ebay. Has proper fold and crimped seam on the box and tidy welds. Mild steel hanger a bit rusty but still sound, unlike the box brackets which were f**ked. Has some pitting where the box brackets were but still sound.
And as previously said, sounds ace, not 'peco' screechy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Haven't made my mind up what to do with this.
Could put it on the 316i being rebuilt, but probably not as the car will be for the curvy one making a brew in the kitchen, and I wanted to keep it more or less original spec.
Could put it on the touring, but again would be a bit of a waste as I use the car for work, which is mostly short journeys.
It won't fit the 320 anyway.
So. What's it worth?
Might fetch a fair wedge on ebay as it will fit a 318i; with a good write up it could be the star auction for the council go faster boys; but as it's an unknown manufacturer it might bomb if I start it at 99p!
The zone and some of it's members have been a great help to me over the last couple of years so.........
to be fair to zoners one and all who might be interested I will accept offers, BY PM ONLY, up until 9pm Thursday.
I will see what offers come in and decide then whether to keep, accept an offer or ebay it.
