How costly and how hard is it to change from auto to manual?

if you are paying some one to do it ??

parts needed

gear box, prop, peddal box, clutch and possibly diff and a few more parts then you may aswell add all the service bits like slave cylinder, then add new linkage bushes and mounts, then fluids etc. parts alone will will creep up to Ԛ£500 ish

then at leasts Ԛ£300+ for labour

budget a grand for it mate

get a manual doner car then transfer all the bits over as you go there are so many little fittings such as the bracket to hold the cluch reservoir you may find the diff on the car once converted is the wrong ratio for you.
im doing a convertion at the moment and it is very time consuming taking it out of one then removing the auto box and fitting your manual box i think if you pay Ԛ£500 for labour its still cheap but its not impossible to do at home .....the best bit is when its finished you can then try and make some money on the parts left over to cover your outlay

Im doing this too, not only am I going from 318 to 320 (should have gone 325 tbh!!) but also getting rid of the auto and going manual..... im now wishing I hadnt started  so much for a weekends work!!!!
Saying that, I do have a donor vehicle, so its just time at the minute, and rebuild kits, and brackets, and skinned knuckles....lovely :D

Sounds good to me, though I can only work on mine at weekends now, dont get in from work until its started getting dark, and after dropping the autobox onto my chest (still have the bruie/imprint), naked pole dancing ladies wont get me under the car with Halogens only for company
Im still of the opinion - why am I doing this though!!
