As you all know, ive had a few problems or even bad luck with my lump!! Anyway, after having put 2nd headgasket on in a week, car was up and running again last night.. on the way to work, i noticed the car started to kangaroo slightly while it was warming up but stopped doing this when normal op temp... Same again on the way home this morning? got home and i thought i'd check oil level etc... ive got a bit of mayo on the dipstick and also under the oil filler cap???? could it just be left over gunge from before? i checked water and it had gone down a bit 2? im i expecting more grief lads? I have also noticed that since engine has been put back together, it sounds rather clackety!!! not the tappets, but from lower down, what can this be? piston slap?

Piston slap would go when the engine got upto temp.

I would keep an eye on the mayo, if its just been put back
together its bound to have condensation in the oil ways.

You might want Ant to check its not a big end.

You then might want to fit an oil temp monitor.

Anything above >100dec C you will be looking at spinning a shell.

Mine took a good hour or two of running to clear the oil again, even then it was flushed twice and fresh oil, no probs since tho.
My issue was water in the sump as water had sat in the cylinders overnight and ran down the block.

Did you change the oil filter also?

Erel, run the car up to temp without driving it, allow the whole engine to warm right through, then change the oil again if you're concerned about the mayo, it can collect in the oil cooler and thus come back to haunt you a few times after an H/G failure.

Kangerooing ccould be caused by a knackered rotor arm/cap, but this would normally be the other way round, i.e ok when cold playing up when hot or at high revs.

Maybe a fulleing issue, try changing your fuel filter just in case
