Good point, but dont worry about that, because he wants to "tuck the fucker up"

Next time Mr Saab wont bother stopping if hes going to get screwed over for admitting fault....

Lucky he went up your back end. No insurance company will blame you for that. Anyone goes up your rear, it's their fault. Even if you did something silly - which I know you didn't - it's still their fault for being too close. Saab twat doesn't have a leg to stand on. They'll both be broken anyway if any e30zone guys get hold of him...

Alas being hit up the rear ,even when stationary is not a guarantee of a straightforward payout , many years ago i was stationary at a set of lights and some piece of sh1t careered into the back of my 35000 mile mint AMC Pacer, he admitted liability , i was pissed but thought at least i will have an earner. The scum sucking f*ckpig then told his insurance company a very different story about how i 'aggressively ' pulled out in front of him.
The claim dragged on for 8 months and i had to make do with 50% of the (inflated :) ) repair cost.
The large crosshead screwdriver through the radiator and a/c condensor trick on two separate occasions no doubt caused the tosser some minor inconvenience though ! :D

Sorry to hear about this fella, hope your neck is ok tomorow.
Claim the f@ck out of this twat, could have been alot worse injury wise.
One good thing, at least it wasnt the alpina, also payout will cover the cost of new touring so may turn out to be a blessing, sort of :?

If you need any help over the weeknend stripping the poor turd, give me a shout.

Just seen this. Glad you're OK Simon.

Another E30 bites the dust

If you want to sell some parts let me know what's gonna be available.

glad it wasn't the Alpina and that you are OK. If you need a personal injury lawyer let me know. One of my best friends is pretty effective at extracting monies for all manner of injuries.

getting a couple of estimates next week both places i visited said it was bolloxed! lol

i spoke to my insurance today and as i have only insured it 3rd party only as it's not worth any more they said i'd keep the salvage if they wrote it off which they will if it goes that route. I spoke to the saab man today and i think it's going to go insurance now but i'm not 100%.

I noticed today u get some stares from people when your car is a touch damaged!

If you can get the salvage, AND the money from the Saab twat, may be worth trying to get it pushed out or fixed yourself. As you say, high value, WELL impressive spec, seems a shame to strip a car that good. Sorry to the vultures after the bits, but wouldn't you all rather see it rebuilt?

It's a difficult one gortour, but 4 doors are bottom of the e30 pecking order. If it was a manual 2dr then maybe i would be more inclined but for what the car cost if it was ever bumped or the head cracked then breaking would be the only route really. It's a shame as it's been a real hero of car for me nd has been reliable and kept my alpina in the garage so i could use it in the evenings and weekends. Shit happens though, but if all goes well i will be in the touring massive!

So i can see if they really do go sideways better than a saloon :D

It's what it's worth, not what it cost though surely. You reckoned it was worth a grand with its high spec. That car looks lovely, and in top condition too - until Saab man that is... Still, with a spec like that car has, it may make you a lot of money in bits - or put them on your Tourer. Best of luck with whatever you decide to do. Maybe fit a towbar to the Touring in case Saab man tries to attack that too. Best of luck with whatever you decide to do. Was only joking about the vultures too, before I upset anyone... The more E30s we can keep going the better.

Sorry to hear about the crash Simon. I have been in quite a few over the years when I was a telephone engineer working around the country. All but one was other people driving into me mainly when I was stationary at lights or a roundabout. The main thing is if you are ok, panels and cars can be changed limbs can't.
Hope it all works out soon :(

It's still an E30 though, and I'd rather have a 4-door than a bloody Pacer... Especially one like Simon's. What's so wrong with 4-doors anyway? Maybe people do prefer 2-doors, but it's still a BMW, still an E30, and still a bloody nice car.

2 doors, cabs and tourings that's it , 4 doors are donor vehicles, with the exception of the B6 3.5 i am trying to steal at the moment !
Simon knows his turd is a sad scrapper, a mobile garden shed if you like, a way of storing valuable parts until they are used / served. As it transpires it will be getting demolished sooner than anticipated ! :)
All my pacers (5) were sold at a tidy profit,it would take a better man than me to make a profit out of a 4 door !
Mind you,watch this space for a minty B6 ! :)

the lads here in Bahrain would have that bad boy bashed straight in no time!! seen a rolled 4 door bashed straight  nee botha!!!

still never good when it happens to you, some dickheat rammed my Z3coupe before i sold it, only damaged the rear bumper and carrier but ended up paying for half the parts as his insurance company said they would only pay out fully for new parts on a car less than three years old!! could have gone to court but would have taken years so had to sod it and bite the bullet

but glad you are ok!

So in other words, all 4-doors should be scrapped unless they meet with pacerpete's approval... I agree that 2 doors and cabs are nicer, and worth more, but to say all 4-doors are only fit for scrapping just makes you look daft, especially on an E30 site. I've got a Touring at moment, but I've had a 4-door before, and would again. Can't be arsed to get into an argument, so lets just agree to differ, unless anyone else wants to comment?

Fact = 4 doors are perceived by most to be the ugly runt of the e30 family and as a result the least desireable /valuable , sad but true.
Simon bought his car for peanuts, because it was a 4 door, he was recently touting it about (obviously without the alpinas ) for Ԛ£300, taxed and tested. The shuffle of notes rustling in the hands of qeueing buyers was deafening, not !.
Because the demand for 4 door E30s is virtually non existant (except as throw away bangers) they are worth very little, as a consequence of this most owners will cut corners on maintenance and adopt a "i'll fix it only when it breaks and if its cheap" mentality. As a result most are sad corpses on stretchers dodging the hiab.
Whether you agree with these facts or not is up to you , but they are the facts.

I am currently trying to buy a very tidy genuine Alpina B6 3.5, unfortunately it is a 4 door, as a 2 door i know that it will pull Ԛ£6000 no problem , but as a 4 door ,what's it worth, who wants it ?
The owner thinks because it is rarer than a 2 door it is more valuable, i have assured him that is not the case but obviously he thinks i have an axe to grind. I want the car and we will have a deal but the price will have to be right because i know it will be hard work trying to shift.
