Hello,

I have a grey leather interior, so beige has no use for me im afraid - thank you for the offer.

Im based in South Croydon, between the bus garage and Jaguar dealership.

May come and collect this weekend if possible?

Cheers,

Adil

Hello,

Ill be retrofitting these into an e30 m3, if not a 325i coupe. Are there any issues that I have overlooked?

Regards,

No, it's just you don't need the lit if you have a touring - they are all 'rear headrest ready'.

Tourings don't all come with fittings for rear headrests in place, but the fitting kit required is different from that used on saloons.
Rear headrest kit for a touring is identical to that used on all E30 front seats, so you can get the bits from any threadbare old front seat on a scrapper.

Plasters for your hands, for when that clip at the bottom of the backrests gets you as you pull them off!

Brian and Chris
When fitting rear headrests to the rear seats of a touring do you have to take the rear seats appart to get into the back of them or do you just measure where the holes should be and then put the clips etc in from above?
Cheers Spadge..

There's a Tech artcicle on the Zone telling you all you need to know about fitting rear headrests on a Touring. Try this... http://www.e30zone.net/modules.php?name ... adrest.htm

The guide goes through it all very comprehensively, but I'll add two things;
When pulling off rhe seat backs, the ends of your fingers are quite likely to make contact with a sharp metal edge hidden under there. Great care needed.
The parts bought from the dealer can all be got from the same scrapper that the headrests come from.

Hello Stuart,

When we do finally meet up, i dont think i will be leaving the confines of my car. probably just drive past with the window down or something.

Managed to hit a raised manhole cover in kingston - sump was fine, but the cover made contact with my exhaust - pulled the manifold from the block... left me with 6 broken studs in the block!!! Its an engine out job, so may take some time.

Just getting it back together again now, and whilst im at it, giving the engine a once over.

Good to hear youre in good health,

All the Best,

adil

Hi there,

I have tried, but they keep forwarding me to the contractors. Dont really want to deal with them. However, may give them a fright with a solicitors letter.

cheers

I'm no lawyer, but I would have thought your claim is against the council, as the owners of the road. It's up to them to claim from their contractors in turn.

Bearing in mind, there were roadworks, hence the raised manhole. However, I may have to seek legal advice - has anyone else experienced such a thing?

Cheers,

May end up being the contractor at fault at this rate then mate. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but if they were working on the road and had the cover up, surely the tossers should have had the area fenced off... Health and Safety issue here methinks...? But would agree that the Council should be ultimately responsible as they OWN the road and the contractors were working for THEM...

That does make sense. I think the best way to go is to consult a solicitor - but once again I am new on this front, so are there certain solicitors who deal with this sort of thing? I should really draft a letter with all the evidence, and present my case to them personally, then follow up with the solicitor... just dont want to complicate matters if it reaches that stage.

Thanks for the opinions guys,

Adil
