But I just read a post with someone who had the powersteering replaced for a manual rack
Powersteering: Yes or no?

I kind of already decided to have powersteering retrofitted in my 316. It is the only thing I really miss in the comparison with more 'modern' cars. It just drives so much more 'relaxed'...

Is the steering-precision really that bad with the powersteering? So I'm just curious what you guys think about this... Would save me quite some money if I skip this plan

The power steering in e30's is far too light for my liking - you can't really feel what the front wheels are doing. However when I took the power steering belt off the 325 it was far too heavy LOL
Anyone know if theres a simple way of reducing the amount of assistance?

Having just replaced my PAS with manual,I can honestly say,it feels great.
I can't comment on the high speed driving yet with the manual, but I have done 125 on a PAS rack with no belt, felt a lot more stable, and I felt far more in control than with the PAS running.
Leave it off matey

My manual feels super light at the mo after driving around for so long with a non functioning PAS unit.jonb wrote:e30"s are horibble with the keep fit steering. far to heavy, they cant be chucked around in the same way
Best left for the council spec cars.
My missus could beat most men at arm wrestling now though!
