Its a real shame when this happens, but then they are old cars.
Sounds similar to what mine recently failed on. The killer for me was the rear bake pipes, as you have to move the petrol tank and/or crossmember ... I hope its not the same ones you need. Front shock can be a PITA too and its best to do both while you're at it.
Are you going to be doing the work yourself??
Hopefully you'll get it all sorted soon though - keep another E30 on the road!

Got my E30 318is booked in on Friday too. I've cleaned off some surface corrosion from the brake pipes to show they're OK, fitted a new exhaust, adjusted a headlight aim and replaced a front wheel bearing. These were the items listed on the failure sheet so keeping my fingers firmly crossed it'll go through OK this time.

Bought it from a Zoner (H35 Ian) via ebay. I can understand you asking though...I tried everywhere without success (or silly Main Stealer price quotes)
I've still got a good back box available if you need one as my original was fine.

the lines from BMW are steel not copper thats y they rust.
you can get a brake pipe making kit that includes a roll of copper pipe and fittings from car parts direct for Ԛ£50 + copper pipes are easer to bend than the steel ones
current cars, 4 e30 tourings, 2 e30 cabs, 1 e36 328i sport, 1 e36 328i cab

You can replace every rigid brake line on an E30 with cupro-nickel (NOT COPPER) pipe and all new end fittings for much less than Ԛ£10.
