I'm fed up with replacing the lower rubber strip on my touring tailgate, it only takes a few weeks before it starts shrinking and leaving big gaps in the corners. Has anyone had experince of non oem rubbers, are they any better?

Do they come the correct length or have to be trimmed?
If they have to be trimmed, then you're not compressing them enough as you fit them.
If they are trimmed, then use two pieces with a butt join in the middle. Superglue the join.

They come over-sized. I have been compressing them, just not enough i guess. I think i'll try the join in the middle trick next time. Cheers.
