107'000? Are you having a laugh?
My 730i has done 261'000 miles. Clicked over to 250'000 when doing 100 on the M4 past Chieveley services. At 256'000 I drove 2500 miles to Munich and Austria and back - did the 1250 from Oberammergau to my house in one hit. Stopped twice for fuel and once at Calais to get on a boat.
320i's are good for 250'000 if well looked after.

My first E30 was a 320i, bless her cotton mudflaps, had 260,000 miles on her before she went to E30 heaven, and that was only due to shell damage cause by white van man.....She drove beautfully, never missed a beat, started first time in the morning, every morning.

Now i have this beauty

A M20 engine with 107,000 on it, has far more life left in it than any brand new engine leaving a factory with GM or Ford written on its cam cover.

Long live the inline6!
My 2.5 died at around 200k but who knows what sort of a 20year life that had had!

One of mine's on 250,000 and has just pulled about its own weight, in the shape of a caravan, 2000 miles to and around France and back, mostly at WOT and illegal speeds. Didn't miss a beat or consume any oil, water or other fluids, except a small quantity of petrol and large quantities of liquid propane.
An E34 525i M50, 274,000ish miles, she'll make it to 300K i'm sure and a E30 320i M20 with 147,000 just a baby in retrospect. BMW = workhorse's, i love every nut & bolt
I had a near new (at the time) mk4 golf 1600cc lasted all of a year before it went back for a recon engine, new cars, shite..

you what! the milage played about with? this car has got the most comprahensive service history i have ever seen. and i carry it on! i mean christ! you see a fairly low milage e30 and people think the @uckers been clocked! i will send you a copy of the service book if you like!jonb wrote:e30bmlover
why you bothered? yours has probably had the milege played around with a few times.
are you not riping the 2 litre landfill motor out and fitting a 2.5? if so then whats the problem?
and yes, the 2.5 is going in when its been rebuilt.
the only reason im getting the 2.5 put in is because there are too many 2.5 dogs about and the engines pre facelift(she will be on the 320 running gear), i cant @ucking wait to see the look on the mugs faces when the 320 pulls up, they will get allot more than they barganed for! and its better the devil you know...@uck i love this car!
