How Can I Keep My New Badges.........

Thieving scum nicked my bonnet badge today. I know that there's no way to make them totally nick-proof, but any suggestions - other than a razor blade on the under-side??

Brian usually suggests silicone sealant/glue for keeping BBS centre-caps, so maybe you could use it here too - the clear stuff y'know?

Good point young sir! I 'spose Ԛ£30ish for new badges is better than having to have the panel sprayed ('spesh with metallic paint!). It's just a ballache them keep getting nicked.

how about drilling out the gromet holes from inside the bonnet and screwing some thin self tappers into the pegs (skillfully hollowed out before hand)

Think I may just put a bit badge tape under them. They'll still come off, but if it's not so easy the scum may just give up and go and appropriate some other poor sod's badges.

That's a thought Andy. Would be easier to thread the pegs and put 4mm(??) nuts on.

you could run a i.c.e capacitor with 1 or 2 farads linked to a peg and earthed to the bonnet-..

Right, thanks for all the advice lads.
Changing my job (car was parked at work at the time) isn't an option.
I'm getting a spare front one, and I'll have the original blue rear badge for a spare too.
I'm not going to go with making them harder to get off as I don't want the car getting damaged. And like I said before, the cost of badges is a lot less than getting damaged bodywork repaired & sprayed.
When I get the car fully resprayed, I'll think about getting the recesses filled. I like the de-badged look - I had it done to both my F**ds.

thats quite a good idea.if they want them theyll take them and if you make them harder to get of theyll just damage your car out of spite.ive never had this sort of problem apart from an alpina rep centre cap getting knicked once just pay a visit to you local scrappys and fill your pockets with replacement badges
