I know i know, it shouldn't be possible. Whenever I am at a set of lights if im sat for more than 30 seconds with the clutch down, the biting point seems to drop a few inches, normally followed by me stalling it and looking like a tit. When releasing the clutch after it having been depressed for 30 seconds it also appears to be much lighter than usual. A few seconds later everything returns to normal.

Has anyone ever come accros anything like this or have an idea as to what it might be?

Thanks in advance

Sounds like the recently popular hydraulic issue, in that hydraulic pressure is releasing whilst you have the pedal depressed ie. possibly faulty master and/or slave cylinders.

Before Brian says it, how is the fluid level?

Had an issue with all the fluid being lost a few weeks back which meant I couldn't get it into gear. Turned out to be a faulty oil seal on the slave cylinder which was replaced.

As said in the other clutch cylinder threads which you might not of seen - if you replace one cylinder, its best to replace the other as well.

Its a fair bet your master cylinder is giving up as a result of the new slave cylinder being fitted.

Just read the whole thread from beginning to end. When your slave cylinder failed there was no back pressure on the master cylinder, so when you pushed the clutch pedal, the seal in the bore went slightly further into the bore, past where it normally goes. There will be a ring of crud in the bore where the seal normally gets to, and you damaged the seal by pushing into this.
What you now have is fluid leaking back past the m/c piston seal under pressure.
