I've notice that my car has developed a noticable ticking noise on tick-over and it goes up with the revs for a bit (to about 1.5 - 2 rpm). If driving normally it goes away but then come back when idling

Nothing else I notice is wrong, drives fine, pulls fine and can't see anything wrong!!

Anyone have any ideas - I need this thing to drive to Oxford on Friday!

check the HT lead heatshield avove the exhaust...

Have you fitted a new chain tensioner since you had the car? if not go get one!

My original iS engine started to tick real bad one day, i ran through some Wynns hydraulic lifter cleaner from Halfrauds and it shut it up within a few miles...

Can't check just now as I'm at work but I'll try to pop home at lunchtime and have a look

And no I've not fitted a new chain tensioner....
