I want to slam my 316 but not sure on best spring / shock combo.

The only thing that caught my eye in the zone shop was the coil over kit.

Thoughts ?

Car is sitting like this..........
Front is too high !

Unless you have super smooth roads, don't go too low. The best suspension upgrade in my opinion is the MTEC setup. Get a set of used 318iS springs and the larger front suspension legs (51mm) and set of new Boge MTEC shocks. The drop will be small (~ 20mm) but you will notice a big improvement in ride.

If you want to go aftermarket, Eibach springs are good and Bilstein or Koni shocks are a popular chioce. Don't be tempted by cheap springs or suspension kits.

H&R/Bilsteins are known to be a good set up.

Never buy used Springs.

Used springs wil be well over 14 years old now and subject to metal fatigue.

A set of H&R Springs costd Ԛ£96. I cannot see the point of buying 2nd hand stuff when new stuff is so cheap.

Anyway, to answer your question - what is your application? If it's road use then coilovers aren't really needed.

If you upgrade to 51mm front struts then you'll have many more options.

Bilstein B8 for the front and rear and Eibach springs...or if budget is less look at the Bilstein B12 kit...shop around as some good offers from suppliers..lots of choice of manufacturers and suppliers...plus you need postage to Scotland built in

Everyone will give you different advice but that would be my advice based on experience and others who have been doing suspension a lot longer than me and build M3 race cars...that would be the same setup as used on many E30 M3 track cars out there

Good luck
