ive had my 325is sitting on the drive unused for about 6 months. I went to drive it today and the clutch cable has snapped. Are these hard to change? would anyone be willing to give me a hand if your in the essex/southend area..for cash obviously.

probably sprung a leak and lost your fluid. if you see the worst scenario of everything, put a Clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder on your christmas list :-) (fairly cheap really if you buy the parts yourself)

is there any fluid on the floor? I am not saying it has definately gone, just happened to me when mine was standing a while. cost me about Ԛ£150 in total including parts+ labour as it was too complicated for me to do!

there seems to be some fluid on the oil sump guard thing. Cant really see any on the floor but it has been raining alot so might of got washed away as my drive is quiet a steep slope. I would take it to a garage but where its sat for so long the brakes are seized and i cant even put it in gear to get it off the drive to get it towed.

I had to get the garage to come tow it, they can jack the back wheels up and put it on a "spec" type recovery wagon but better off they put it on a flatbed truck. they should be able to release the brakes.

so that cost you Ԛ£150 including having it towed? that isnt so bad..were your brakes seized up too then? did you need new disks or just drive it around till the rust came off?

I only live 4 miles from the garage, was something like Ԛ£30 for towing it. handbrake was stuck on, but putting it on off on off etc got it to release, the front brakes just had to be driven till the rust came off, mine was only stood a couple of months though.
