not critical
drain it flush with petrol and keep running it with petrol till it clears through also change the filter

same was done to an m3 not so long ago and a damn good flush sorted it out

A fiver, is that all?
If it were mine id fill the tank with petrol and just run it, wont do any damage. I dont think I could bring myself to waste fuel :)

As above - brim the tank with petrol and run it dry.
From time to time I get the chance to fill my tank with disel contaminated (cheap) petrol.

I've not done it myself (yet), but know people who have, and with more than a fiver's worth! They have got away with brimming with petrol and just running it until it clears.

Petrol in a diesel tank is a different matter though!

pfft, had petrol in the transit before, ran fine to the next garage where we filled it up with diesel, been fine since, it gave it abit of a boost aswell :P musta burnt all the carbon off the combustion chamber or something :P could have easily been melted piston, but hey, transits last for ever.

ive done the petrol into diesel mistake. the crappy 1.5 corsa D was low on fuel, i had not drivin it for ages, and my other car was petrol and i was in a rush blah blah... wacked a fiver in. i couldnt understand why it was mis-fireing and makign funny noises... i still dont remember what i actually put in.. still i stuck 20 quids of derv in and it cleared. the worse thing is DONT RUN A DIESEL COMPLETELY DRY!! for some reason the derv cant get sucked to the injectors and it has to be pressured :( ive done this also, except it did suck it through, it just had loads of bubbles and no power.

some people actually mix diesel with petrol when they are racing so thay they can advance their timing a lot. then they get loads of power. little bit of aeroplane grade 4 star (101oct), some octane boost, little bit of diesel and some other stuff that makes it all mix together

ah thats alright :)
i was skint once when i first got my 325, so i bought some petrol off a mate, about 20-25 quid drum for a 10er
it was fuel that had been taken out of cars for scrap
i filtered it through two filters and wacked a 10-ers woth in, and went and put another 10er in from the petrol pump to mix it.
did it stink or what! propper fuely, must of had derv in there too.... aint doing that again lol

I get "reclaimed" derv mixed petrol from my brother in law when I'm in his neck of the woods. Makes no difference to running at all.

Nothing wrong with scrapper fuel either, although it may be a little stale. Use it 70:30 with new stuff and it will be fine.

Ive filled the wifes car up a diesel with petrol and i mean filled up right to the top, had to be towed to a garage and it drained.

I asked them what happens to all this mixed fuel, the guy told me it goes back to the government and they turn it into metholated spirits and fire lighters.
