Hi Guys, just nipping out to buy some oil, am I right in thinking that the M42 engine in my 318iS holds 4.5 litres of oil?, so if I buy a 5litre bottle I'll have some for top ups?.

Can't remember the exact capacity off the top off my head, but it's under 5l with a filter, so you'll be fine.

ye 5l will be enough. buy low viscosity oil as pauls website suggests.
