hey guys i bought a 318i 2 weeks ago and didnt drive it for 4 days when i tried to start it the other day the battery was completly dead. Neither of my reverse like work i have changed the bulbs but still no luck, i dunno if this has anything to do with it. Ive taken the batterty out and it is on charge at the moment. Any suggestion why this has happened?

Well when i bought the car the guy said it was a recently new battery. I havnt chaked the date on it but it does look new. It's been charging for about 24 hours now and the battery charger's meter says the power has gone down. Im going to buy a new battery today. Hopefully that should sort it out! Thanks

You now know why it had a new battery, and why the owner sold it!
Reverse light fuse is probably blown as a result of damaged wiring on the gear linkage under the car (very common).
For the power drain - First check the boot light goes off. If that's not the problem then check the current drain between the battery negative and the earth lead (with the lead off). I've posted on how to do this previously, so use the search function.
Make sure you have the keys and open a window before you start, as you may activate the central locking.
A current drain of up to about 30mA is normal. Anything over about 80mA needs investigating.
