does anyone know how to test the water temp sensor thats located between the temp sender and the blue temp sensor on an m30?

number 16 on this piccy

broke my old mans gastester last night when trying to fiddle with the CO level cos it failed mot. i now thought i would just replace the blue temp sensor and this sensor and tell the guy to adjust the CO at the AFM if it was going to fail again.

then i found out this other sensor may cost 40 quid 8O ......could do with testing it first....problem is i dont really know what it is or what it does.....cold start sensor maybe?

realoem calls it a power regulation sensor whatever the hell that is :?

looks like my chances of a Ԛ£22 10 day re-test are slipping away lol

Sorry i don't know how to test it but it won't cost 40 quid, more like 10-20 for a new one, try BMW or ECP/GSF as they should be a similar price

think ill ask bmw first as i dont really know for sure what it is and dont want to wank around on the phone to GSF/ECP...if bmw come away with 10-20 quid then thats ok....my parts dude seems quite a reasonable guy 8)
