Quaser's engine would blow because it's under so much load! (Im expecting a reply to really make me go and hide now !)

What did Andy's 335iT put down? from what i saw it was low 14's.

A1 BMW's 335i is said to have put down 13.2!

I forgot all about it - and ended up in cornwall for one of my ebay missions anyway!

engine isnt fully mapped so no point taking mine down the pod anyway.

If i was to go, Sal probably would have driven my car down the pod - but then again maybe not cause you have to have a crash helmet to do the pod in a convertible, and Sal wouldn't find one big enough! :D :D :D

The only reason I would have to take it up is because the car would not move with your added weight :D

Best was 14.4, i sounded like a stuck record yesterday saying it but it needs a remap, it's running well, it's just not optimized
A1 BMW's 335i is said to have put down 13.2!
Which one was this ?

What body type and mods did it have ?

I'm just trying to fit it in to some other times from that day and trying to make some sense from it.

12.5 ? Yellow 2dr 335 stripped out(1000kgs he estimated), special sticky tyres, 100-150 shot of NOZ

13.8 Ian332 2dr M-tec 2 full trim/ICE(1250kgs ??) road tyres 300bhp ish ?)

14.4 Me Touring full trim 1300kgs road tyres 250bhp apx

BTW sorry i didn't get over to see you, it would have been good to catch up :o:

The car that impressed me the most was a 3.0 M3 with a Geoff Steel carbon intake manifold, Shrick 284's and Eisenmann exhaust decatted. No MAF. Slightly lightened.

The guy is a cusomter. He also did the block paving on my front drive.

He beat both the E46 CSL's and a Zm Coupe with a best time of 12.9!

I saw Andy's run of 14.4 and thought - that's a quick E30!

Oz could have gone much faster, it always seemed to take ages for him to take off. Budget tyres no good for this event.

I dont think the c2's went on the strip.

A1's car is a red 2 door with A1 BMW written all over it.

It's fully stipped out with BTB manifold (work of art), chipped, Simota Carbon Airbox and BTB exhaust system.

Very very quick car!

Sounds like he might be about 200-250ks lighter than my Touring(1300kgs) then ?

Was he also on sticky tyres ?

One thing i wished i'd done is to stiffen up my rear shocks.

I think he had normal road tyres. Defo a very light car compared to yours.

His intake is well shielded too, this can make alot of difference as when you lining up with the engine on and when your at the start line, alot of heat soak takes place. Intake temps can dramatically rise and lose you alot of power.

I reckon your car has the potential to put down high 13's.

There were some pretty quick times, Andy335's was impressive. Ian332 very good!

Well for my first time every down the strip in my 3251 Sport with no mods at all (2.7 under the hood) my best time out of 9 runs was 16.6 secs but will keep practising and take my bass box out next time and see if that makes any difference as it did for Zaust lol!

I didnt take mine up the strip although I wanted to just so I could say I did it.

Problem with running my car up the strip is the engine is standard apart from the E30Zone chip, and being an auto it has nothing off the line it only really picks up in the midrange which is where I play most. From the A509 to Santa Pod there are some really interesting roads. I hit 80mph a few times, double kickdown, and flying through the bends.

As much as I love drag racing and I have followed it from an early age. Throwing your car into a corner at silly speed taking the racing line, hitting the apex and exiting full throtle still does it for me :D

I totally agree, but 1/4 mile is less than 1/5th of the price and still a laugh!
