Sometimes I wonder if I should just get myself a new Toyota, as it just seems to take forever to get jobs done on my E30. I have just finished spraying and fitting a replacement front valence and iS lip spoiler. This job has taken weeks, doing a few hours each weekend.

Every job seems to take ages to do.

It just seems to take longer becuse its done in bits here and there...

Each time you start the job, you have to get ready again, and then tidy up again, doing it all in one go means you only get ready once, and tidy up once....

It depends which job, todays little PITA was flushing the cooling system on my M30, it's a PITA to do because the block coolant drain plug is tucked right underneith the exhaust manifolds. You can't get to it from above so you have to get under the car and try to minimize how wet you get ! :? :)

Not twice as long.

About five times as long usually!!!

I'm starting to wonder if the head has got to come off my M30, if it does then I'll book a week off work!

I havent found it to be a problem really... take my time on the car, set aside a full day and just work away at it,

cup of coffee when i'm tired or stuck.

I find throwing a few f***s, hammers, spanners, screwdrivers and cans of WD40 around the garage helps too! :x

the jobs on an e30 might seem to take twice as long but if you buy a toyota they ll cost 10 times as much. i had a celica, Ԛ£156 for a front wing,Ԛ£320 for a door,Ԛ£340 for a rear boot door a touch under Ԛ£600 for two front calipers  im happier taking longer as im saving a fortune now :D

I have a young family, so being able to take a full Saturday or Sunday just aint going to happen. After 8pm on a Saturday and Sunday seems to be the only time I can get nowadays :?

i would'nt say they take twice aslong but i would say that when you work on them you normaly find some thing that turns into a job for next weekend. i think of E30 ownership as more of a hobby!
