i have just fitted a steering rack then filled the resovoir with fluid, i jacked the car up and turned the wheel full lock side to side repeatedly. i then topped the fluid up started the engine and turned the wheel sllowly side to side whilst keeping the fluid topped up. i did the for a while until i no more air was coming out the resovoir.

when i put the car back on the floor and drove it the rack makes a squeeling noise when moving slow

any help appreciated

sounds like its the steering pump/ belt tension to me.

Did you have the engine running turning the wheels lock to lock other wise the pump aint engaged

Mine did that for a few miles after bleeding it but was soon fine.

Noise sounds like the pump itself though.
