The events organiser has asked if we can provide feedback on how we found the 1st Ultimate BMW Show.

We are already booked for next year and they want to know how they can improve on this years show.

Keep it sensible peeps and I will pass the constructive comments on to them.

It was all pretty good i think.

A few more trade stands wouldnt go a miss and mabie a bit more magazine coverage.

The other car clubs/furums seemed to have a poor attendence also.

Excellent show. One thing that struck me was that as bmw goes through its evolution, you see less and less examples of the cars. As they go from desireable for enthusiasts to plain rep mobiles. WOuld have been good to swee better representation from newer marques. Without them, it can't really be called the ultimate bmw show. A bit tlike the american "world series" in Baseball.

Not that I care. E30's rock and that's all that matters!!

More traders, more interactive items, ie stalls, fair rides, arcades??. Better variation in musical entertainment. Should be geared more as a family show. A rolling road? A sound off for bass junkies? Mobile valeters? Better cleaning facilities? Sand on the Marshy grassland making off road parking easier?

A "celeb" guest like Pat Sharpe or some obscure artiste to ridicule??

I would suggest more advertising to make it a bigger show!!!!! There were loads of e30's there, but i felt it was maybe a little short on other models!!! Expected it to have a similar, if not bigger crowd than gaydon, but not so!!

Would've loved to see more E31's there (only saw 1) - advertise it on clube31.com - will try and take my 8 next year if i still have it!!
Also, Z8's down to Z1's - all series of all ages - older beemers too!!!!

Also, how about an area slightly larger than the drift bit, sectioned off so people can practice drifting, doughnuts etc, somewhere safe and out the way???
Did see a couple going for it where they really shouldn't have!

Some proper pole dancers wouldn't go amiss!!!!!!!!!!!
And how about putting on some models so people can have them pose on/with their own car for piccies??

I know they advertised in the magazines, but it maybe looked a bit too max power ish for some owners??
Just didn't seem as well publicised as gaydon!

All said, i'm not trying to pick holes!!! It was a wicked day out (loved the little handling cct - make sure that's there next time!) - thanks to all involved!!

Being on a Saturday was a draw back, several people I know couldnt make it because of work.
Also, as previously said, more trade stands and more scantily clad ladies!

With all whats going on, i dont think they would have room for a launch practice area!

Safety issues i think!

might be wrong, when im there with the camaro, u just about get enough room to drive through the pits, let along practice!

I like that idea :o: I have been to karting events when they have a photographer there, they take pics and print big boards with thumbnails you choose the pic you want and they print a large version there and then and being a digital pic they can add the event name, date, etc .

I've been to the Pod many times but it was my first 'show' where I had my chance to get on the Zone stand. The car park security bloke could not have been less helpful, just turned me away and told me to park at the area he pointed to.
I ignored him and went back to the gate and they were much more helpful, but couldn't get me a pass - not their fault.

That didn't stop me having another great day there though! :D

That jet car still scares me!

agree with everyone else really, definatly need more family orientated stuff,
creche,?
fair?
driving simulaters (F1, Rally)??
hands on interactive stands - ie, i saw the owner of the mini that went down the strip, showing a little kid how to change the wheels over, then let the kid do it himself!!!! stuff like that would be great.
bmw mags (air shows do it and do deals on subscriptions too)??
temporary tattoo stands?
mobile entertainment? - balloon animals, magicians?
more car stalls??
auto jumble??
Im carless, BUT, hope to remedy that fairly soon, plus, need to actually be able to drive first so that gets priority!!

Thing that amazed me was that although this was the the first year, it was so much better organised than Gaydon, which has been running many years.
At Gaydon, we were told to park one place (unclearly), got lost, got redirected to this place and parked. We were then told (rudely) by the guy doing all the PA's that we were in the wrong section and to get out, and go and park round the corner on some ridiculously bumpy grass, where no one could see our cars - Cheers.

At the Pod, we were spotted as soon as we drove in, asked if we were with the zone, given a pass, told exactly where to go, (and a map!) then each section was marked, and we were even guided into the space. Spot on and a big thanks to the zoners doing the organising.

Other than that, a few more trade stands, more cars, a DB drag contest, and more scantily clad lovelies would have been nice, but it was the first year, it will grow!

Well as above really, was more of an e30 and 7 series show than BMWs in general (not really complaining though)... and more trade stands, everyone seemed to be wandering around looking for them...
I took my M635 expecting to see loads more. Only found 3 and they werent even M's, one nice one, one tatty 635 and a maxed up 635, not what I expected.
White 318iS, 2.7 conversion, LSD, H&R cup kit, ARBs, F&R strut braces, full cage, kevlar buckets, wilwood 4 pot brakes, braided hoses, 6pt harnesses, f/glass bonnet, Toyo 888's, scorpion, polybushed, carbon cards and boot lid.

Thought the show was realy good. like a few others said more trade stand would have been good or even if a bmw breaker had brought a few btis for us to pick over. ( i dont mean cars, engines interias, steering wheels that sort of thing) and abit more to look at cars or laidies would'nt go amiss! 8) :D

I've been to Gaydon a few times and this, for me, didn't have anything on Gaydon.

I liked the organisation, Zoners helping out and all the rest but frankly there wasn't enough there to keep me occupied all day.

I have been to events as diverse as Max Power through to proper class at Goodwood. This needs to grow it's reputation and get more stalls, events on site and the like. As said previously, some proper honeys wouldn't go amiss winkeye

One good thing though, the queue for the burgers was much shorter than Gaydon :D

Thanks though to everyone who made it possible. Much appreciated.

That would have been either Scott325SE or I on the front gate 8)

More volunteers would always be grateful... Scott & myself had to spend a couple of hours on the front gate with those 'santa pod' girls winkeye

how about a few more signs to the pod from the main road ...thank god for the sat nav...it got me in and it got me (and Daz) out again

I was late getting there, about 2.45, and there were people going ,which means to me that there was nothing there to hold them for a full day, cos if youve paid Ԛ£15 you will try and get your monies worth if you can!

I totally agree with that, the pod is so badly signposted, if I wasnt in a convoy I would have got well lost!
Even leaving the pod, you have to try to remember how you got in.

I thought it was alright, my son Adam saying "can we go home now" continually from about 30 mins after arrival got a little wearing  But he perked up once the jet car had gone down the strip !

As has been said, a few more trade stands will help, but these things have to start somewhere... and few more events for people to take part in would be good too, slalom time trials other challenges etc... Where was the rolling road ?

I thought the zone team did a great job as usual. :notworthy:

It was great to catch up with the familiar faces but I was just gutted I did not get to meet many new people as I had to keep the little'un happy. My mate who came along with his son who owns a 530d E60 enjoyed it though

Looking forward to next year.
Mark.
