the time has come to sort out the fuel pump on my project.

I will be running a pair of dellorto dhla 40's. the engines also got a wild cam and bumped up to 2.0l so the stock mechanical job is no good at all.
Ive heard that you can't run too much preasure with the carbs as you can end up blowing gaskets and make it over fuel like mad. Obviously if ive not got enough preasure going into them im goin no were fast.

So does anyone know what kind of preasure i should be looking at running?
Also wheres the best place to mount the pump? should i make up something to house the pump in the boot?

Cheers

edit: oh yeah the cars a carb'd 1988 316 with the m10 engine for those who dont know.

i used to race (rallycross) against a german bloke with a similar set up on his e30 and he used the standard pump with no probs (his car went like fook!!) respect to the m10 ,they are bulletproof, i think you want flow rate rather than pressure, hope this helps, good luck, john

thanks for the input mate.

the m10s certainly are bombproof

Was this guy running the standard mechanical or electrical fuel pump as ive just found out the mechanical might not clear the intake manifold for the carbs. also im using the head from a 518i which doesnt have the hole for the stock pump to work off the cam.
